Fleksy Keyboard Surpasses $800,000 in Equity Crowdfunding

Integration with new Palm first of Several Upcoming Partnerships for Company's New Smart Mobile Keyboard

BARCELONA -- October 25, 2018 - Thingthing, the company behind Fleksy Keyboard, the fastest and most private smartphone keyboard in the world, announced today that it has successfully secured $815,119 from 446 investors via its latest equity crowdfunding campaign for the Fleksy smart mobile keyboard. The round made its debut August 20th and quickly reached its target amount of $300,000 within 12 days. The new funds will enable the company to continue its growth driven by phone brands’ interest in integrating Fleksy with their mobile devices to provide both a compelling keyboard experience and increase revenue. Palm, the startup that recently launched its namesake connected device, partnered with Thingthing to natively integrate Fleksy and deliver a full keyboard typing experience for the Palm’s ultra mobile form factor.

According to comScore’s 2017 Cross Platform Future in Focus report, the average American adult (18+) spends 2 hours, 51 minutes on their smartphone every day. According to eMarketer, Americans spend 55 minutes a day texting and 25 minutes a day on mobile email.

“In this mobile-first era, an elegant yet sound keyboard experience is paramount for practical, high-function as well as enjoyable use of smartphones and appropriate connected devices,” said Olivier Plante, CEO of Thingthing. “Plus, mobile phone manufacturers are challenged to monetize users as profits in business have shifted away from the hardware device and toward software and services, and this is where Fleksy is an ideal software partner - especially for brands that need the revenue sharing to better compete with the cache brands.”

Fleksy is a mobile keyboard extension that offers content suggestions based on user conversations. Fleksy users can access content on any messaging app and perform web searches without having to switch between apps. Fleksy is available for both Android and iOS in 45+ languages. With more than 13 million downloads to date, Fleksy allows mobile handset OEMs to monetize via fleksyapps by sharing revenue of each link users share.

In 2014, Fleksy was awarded the title of the fastest mobile keyboard in the world by the Guinness Book of Records, and is unique due to its powerful gestures, flexible customization, and for being the most private keyboard on the planet. Users can search videos, restaurants, gifs, news and memes, and share everything, without ever leaving a messaging app.

"We're excited to team up with ThingThing to design a custom keyboard that delivers a full keyboard typing experience for Palm's ultra mobile form factor," said Dennis Miloseski, co-founder of Palm. "Fleksy enables gestures and voice-to-text which makes typing simple and convenient for our users on the go."

The integration with Palm is the first of several marquee phone and brand partnerships Fleksy is pursuing in the US, Europe and Asia including those with governments to fill the need for a private and secure keyboard for their phones.

“Our goal is to have 550 million devices using Fleksy by 2020,” added Plante.
